PLCS TSM 6.2 Advanced Topics course is intended to provide you with the information necessary to:

• Become proficient at the use of the TSM advanced features
• Plan for and test disaster recovery procedures in the TSM server and client environments
• Study for IBM Tivoli Storage Manager Certification Testing
• Take the IBM TSM certificate test
• Update your knowledge, perfect if you have taken a masterclass before, this class will update your knowledge to level TSM 5.5 and TSM 6.2!

This course prepares students to design and implement complex solutions for TSM. It is recommended for students who have experience implementing and managing TSM solutions, need to learn about and practice disaster recovery procedures, are preparing for the TSM Certification Exam and are interested in learning about the advanced features of the TSM software.

Students will study and review the information covered by the exam and learn about TSM advanced concepts such as Server-to-Server Communications, SQL Select interface for TSM, TSM Script and Macro writing, the Disaster Recovery Manager, recovering the Tivoli Storage Manager server database, and troubleshooting server and client performance issues.

TSM Level 2 training from PLCS is the only course available from any provider that also includes topics and labs on implementing the Tivoli Data Protection products (for MS Exchange, MS SQL and Oracle). This lab intensive course provides the student with experience in collecting the correct information to design complex solutions, and implement advanced topics.

Using hands-on labs, and the most current information available, the workshop will focus on:
• The class material is based on TSM 5.5. and 6.2
• You will get a demo and have the availability to work with the release of TSM 6.2
• If possible we show you how to migrate your TSM 5.x system to TSM 6.2 (based on working release of the TSM 6.2 beta code).
• We have both Windows, AIX and Linux system in the class available.

During the last day of the training we will organize a official TSM exam for the certificate of IBM. This exam is taken and if you succeed you get a official “IBM Certified Deployment Professional - Tivoli Storage Manager V6.1”.
